Our company history

SOLARtec was founded by 4 shareholders in 2001.
The company is based in Blaschette, 15 kilometres from the city of Luxembourg.

Jürgen Schopp as the technical director brings in more than 20 years of experience in the photovoltaic domain to the company. The goal is the development and sale of energy concepts based on renewable energy.
The offer addresses to private persons as well as trade and agriculture. We develop individual solutions for all target groups:
On grid systems, whose power won from photovoltaic is fed into the local energy supplier network and can be amortized through the compensation for electricity fed into the grid.
Off grid systems, which are used wherever a public provider is either not available, or cannot be used.
A proof for our expertise and technical know-how are the recently installed solar plants in Dreis-Brück (450 kW) and on the roof of the European court of justice in Luxembourg (400 kW).

Rising energy costs and increasing dependency on fossil fuel is changing the awareness of people. European governments support the use of renewable energy. SOLARtec extend their product range to solar heat and block heating stations.

At the same time there is an increasing demand for self-sustaining energy systems in the developing countries. Therefore our development department is working out innovative solutions for independent energy supply in off grid areas.
The result is a modular concept for energy supply in off grid areas, in Africa for example. (such as different areas in Africa). Here it is essential to meet the extraordinary requirements concerning both the economic situation and the special climatic conditions.
The best example for a realization in practice is the energy concept called Independent Power System, which we have developed for a village, a school, a hospital and a convent in Tanzania.
